The Mennonites comprise a religious current that surged from a schism with the Protestant Reform of the XVI century spreading from Switzerland to the rest of the Europe and the Americas. Always migrating in order to keep their austere way of living they refuse technology in different grades. In Bolivia they arrived during the 50's looking for cheap land and religious freedom. Then colonized the surrounding area of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, an oil-rich, fertile region known as the Bolivian Chaco. report for The Associated Press.
